Approval
To seek approval is to have no resting place, no sanctuary.

Some Women when they hit Mid-life are starving...thirsty for approval from anyone OTHER than those who truly know and love her...they end up getting caught up in a cotton candy tornado of wanting to be fulfilled, yet filling themselves with things and people that appear sweet but are very empty.

How true. My stbx wife, since she asked for a divorce, has talked about her "happiness" to me (when I was speaking to her), to common friends, and our adult son all the time. She deserves "happiness". When she sleeps with her 23 year old boyfriend (she's almost 50) it makes her "happy". When she was married she was miserable and her family was fine with that. But now that she found "happiness" with her boyfriend (or whoever she can pick up in a bar or convention) everyone is mad at her. "Why" she asks. She's sad that her son won't speak to her but why should he care? She's "happy". A friend told me she will never draw another truly happy breath again. And I believe it.
