Welcome to Women in MLC: The Dorothy Syndrome a forum devoted to women who are in the midst of the MLC tornado AND the men who are dealing with their wives who have suddenly gone off to OZ...Toto, you aren't in Kansas anymore.
The forum is broken down in to several categories: Recommendations of books, web sites and links, along with Must Read articles on the topic of Mid-Life Crisis and Transition; General Discussion which is open to both the men and the women; separate forums where either the men or the ladies can discuss amongst themselves...man to man, woman to woman. Please respect each others separate forums by not posting in the separated forums. Please feel free to bring a topic to the General Forum for all to discuss, if you believe the topic with benefit all.
The intent of this forum is to gain knowledge and understanding of women in MLC, encourage, guide and strengthen those that are closest to the storm. At times the moderators will use a Christian perspective in their coaching and encouragement. If you are not a Christian or a practicing believer, please know that we will respect any faith or belief system that you hold and will not push our beliefs upon you. Please let the moderators and membership know of your preference. Bottom line of this forum...we are a family coming together in a very difficult time in our lives. Some folks have weathered the storm, while others are struggling/fighting it...be kind and gentle with with one another. We are here to help you through...not harm or make the crisis worse. You will find many compassionate, knowledgeable and experienced people here. You have come to the right place! It is our prayer that one day you will navigate the Yellow Brick Road, fight off the Flying Monkeys, regain your heart, courage and clear thinking and ultimately learn that "home" was held within you all the time...it is not time to click your heels yet...we have work to do first.
Rules of the Forum:
1. Please be respectful...try to keep the bad language to a minimum. There is a way of expressing these same words on the internet without spelling them out.
2. Please refrain from confrontation or aggressive debates. At times in our discussions and encouragement we will be blunt, to the point and truthful, please understand that we do this because at times when dealing with MLC the truth of the matter may be harsh and cruel to hear/read...but it is the truth and needs to be said...we are not purposefully out to cut you off at the knees...you probably have needed to hear it...it is being said with love, compassion and the kindest of intent. You came here for answers...you will get them even if they are hard to hear.
3. Please do not spam the membership with business or sales pitches. You are allowed to direct the membership to other web links through your signatures or make occasional announcements, as long as they are on topic. Please send a private e-mail a request for permission to the Administrator or Moderators prior to making any announcements of this type. NO DATING OR Personals are allowed here. The moderators will immediately delete your posts and block you from membership.
